Located in the centre of Salford Quays' newest development, The Heart is one of only two residential towers in the BBC's new headquarters at Media City. It's a striking design with a curved facade and wide glass-fronted balconies and it looks refreshing compared to the neighbouring office blocks. Unsurprisingly the views from this 23-storey tower and wonderful and above the 7th floor they are unrestricted and take in such Manchester landmarks as The Lowry, Old Trafford and the Town Hall. Surrounded by water, most of the apartments have dock views so it's just a case of choosing which view you prefer; the east-facing view is the best but the west-facing views offer great sunsets across the Trafford Centre. The internal quality is good, with a classy entrance hall, walnut-clad lifts and front doors and high-quality kitchens. Unusually there are a good amount of 3-bedroom units (which is rare in new blocks), plus a mix of studios, 1 and 2 bedroom apartments. Although it's a landmark block in a stunning location it misses out on a top 10/10 rating because with quality like this we would have expected the room sizes to be a touch more generous
