If you're looking for peace and quiet or light and space, then City Quay is THE development to go for. Set in acres of private grounds to the south-east of the city centre, this mid-1990s development is huge and the communal gardens are the largest in Liverpool. The main apartment blocks are set around a large central lake (complete with fountains and ducks!) whilst the non-waterside apartments have quiet views across the large private gardens. The room sizes aren't particularly generous and many apartments have been refurbished, so quality is a mixed-bag, but all apartments offer great value-for-money. City Quay is a good 10-minute drive into town so it's not exactly city-centre living, but we think the extra travelling time is worth it for the peace and quiet, plus it's one of the few remaining gated developments in Liverpool
