Century Buildings was THE block to live in before the arrival of No.1 Deansgate and Beetham Tower, but the high-quality finish and wonderful location is hard to beat, so in 2009 Century Buildings is back at the top of our favourite apartment blocks in Manchester. There are two sections; a handsome warehouse conversion full of original features; and a high-quality contemporary tower with high ceilings and wide windows. Both are well-designed, so it really depends on personal preference. There are leafy views of St. Mary's Gardens at the front of the building and water views of the River Irwell from the back
