City Island is one of the largest developments in Leeds, an imposing block with a sweeping curved design and large private grounds. Located to the west of the city centre, City Island sits on a large headland with the River Aire on one side and the Leeds and Liverpool canal on the other. This unique position means that most apartments have superb water views and a great feeling of space, despite being just minutes from town. The six blocks, Santorini, Beringa, Faroe, Catalina, Elba and Bonaire curve around a central piazza with large planted gardens and water features. The 404 apartments all have good-quality interiors and balconies too. Our only criticism would be the sense of scale, we think the block is just a little too big and it can feel a touch impersonal. But the apartments are superb value-for-money and there are some eccentric designs from quirky 2-bedroom apartments to stunning duplex and triplex penthouses. And it's difficult to find a more peaceful location near the city centre
