Mackintosh House is one of the original city centre residential developments, it was here years before the area was re-branded 'The Northern Quarter'. It's a handsome 4-storey brick-build warehouse conversion with polished yellow-tiled detailing and tall Art Deco style windows. The ceiling heights are tall and the room sizes are much more generous than comparable new-build blocks. The apartments on the north and west side look across to the green spaces of Lovell Park, and the penthouses have wide wraparound terraces. There may be no parking, no gym, no air-con and no concierge, but there's something charming about Mackintosh House that makes a refreshing change from some of the more anonymous blocks in Leeds
