The Unity Building is a real Marmite building, you either love it or hate it, but we think it's one of the most exciting and progressive pieces of contemporary architecure in Liverpool. It looks startling from a distance but very attractive close-up due to the high-quality and innovative building materials. The lower floors have quiet street views with large private balconies, whilst the higher floors have full-height windows with superb views north or south across the city centre. The kitchens are nicely fitted, the grey-tiled bathrooms are pleasant, although the room sizes could have been a little more generous. But this is a very narrow building and what you lose in size you make up in views. And the location is superb, you can walk into town in less than 5 minutes and the riverfront is just across the road. There is a private residents gym and one of the nicest entrance halls we've seen, the wood-panelling and glass reception desk look fantastic
