Navigation Walk is one of the original city centre developments and therefore occupies one of the finest riverside sites in Leeds. Calder, Flyboat, Dock, Flax, Chippendale and Aire House are a curious mix of Victorian warehouses, Swiss-style Chalets, Victorian-style houses and new-build blocks, all constructed in different shades of brick - yet somehow it works. The kitchens and bathrooms are or a more traditional design and the room sizes aren't particularly generous, but it's the communal grounds and central location that really sell Navigation Walk. There are large communal ponds filled with ducks, plants and reeds. There are private decked areas for relaxing and a handsome wooden bridge in the centre of the development. Add to this some fantastic views of the River Aire and you have one of the most sought-after blocks in town. Luvthecity users have pointed out a couple of small drawbacks about Navigation Walk, notably excess parking at the narrow end of Dock Street, which can cause a bit of a problem with access, plus some of the older blocks, including Calder House, have single-glazing only, so passing taxis can be a little noisy at weekends.
