LuvTheCity Rating
One of Manchester's landmark developments, this imposing 23-storey glass block towers over the surrounding buildings and offers wonderful views across the city centre. It's location between the Great Northern Warehouse and GMEX is superb; it's seconds from Deansgate and just a few minutes walk to the shops on King Street and the bars in Spinningfields. The building is nicely designed with high-quality steel and glass elevations and a handsome angled profile. Most of the apartments have superb views and the ones that don't (mainly the lower floor units at the rear of the building) forfeit views for a bit peace and quiet (which can be a relief in the city centre!). The interiors finishes are great and most of the living rooms and bedrooms are considerably larger than comparable blocks. There's a couple of things we don't like; the maze-like corridors have a bizarre carpet design and some of adjacent bars can be a little noisy at times, but we've still given Great Northern Tower one of our rare 10/10 ratings - it's a superb block
