Located on the eastern fringes of Liverpool's business district, Cable House is a bold piece of contemporary architecture with a crisp facade and deep-set balconies. There are some innovative layouts, interesting communal spaces and wonderful south-facing views across one of the city's few public spaces. We like the horizontal timber cladding on the rear of the building and the matt putty-coloured concrete on the front.
