When No.44 was constructed in the summer of 2003, Pall Mall was transformed from an empty windswept street into one of the city's most exciting new residential locations. Placing a large building on such a prominent site demanded some impressive architecture, and it certainly got it. 44 Pall Mall is a bold and contemporary building, with a distinctive curved roof and a brightly-coloured facade. Most apartments have wide balconies and the block is great value, despite its central location. The communal areas are well-designed and we like the curved steel staircases, although the purple colour scheme may not be to everyones taste. The west-facing apartments are the best and the higher floors have panoramic views across Liverpool, but don't rule out the units at the rear of the building, they have pleasant views across the quiet private courtyard
